American Unitarian Conference

Promoting the American Unitarian Tradition

Back to the Home page In September of 2000, the American Unitarian Conference was incorporated as the American Unitarian Association.  After going public, the Unitarian Universalist Association, which was formed when the American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Churches of America merged in 1961, filed a lawsuit against the AUA over the use of the name.  Rather than engage in a lengthy lawsuit, the AUA and UUA agreed to settle the suit with  a name change to American Unitarian Conference. Listed below are the various documents that have been exchanged regarding the lawsuit, including the announcement regarding the settlement.
