Men search throughout the heavens and the earth to find the abode of the Holy One.
Men search but find only reflections as if looking at the moon.
Where within the waters of life is the abode we seek?

Men search to embrace the One.
Men search to experience the give and take of His love.
What must we do to experience the bliss of this love?

Men are told the Holy Spirit is sweet, the spring of our felicity.
Men are told the Holy Spirit will never fail in our need.
How can man obtain the experience of the never failing aid?

Who shall be the envoy to show to us the Way?
Where is the divine ancient law today?
Who is its new teacher in our generation today?

Many tell us that the One has His abode in some far off heaven.
A few tell us that the One has His abode with man on earth.
What is truth?  What is untrue?

How are we to call upon the Ancient One?
How are we to learn and firmly support the Holy Law?
Does the One truly observe all we do?

How may we pass from our ignorance to enter upon the path of the Mighty One today?

I am an old man.  I live to fully praise my God.
May the Spirit flow through me so that I will know the answers to my questions.
Remove from me my tormenting cares and quench my thirst.

Like rival wives on each side, so many conflicting teachings oppress me.
The desire to know the truth devours me.
The cares of my heart and mind to follow the proper way are a torment beyond compare.

When the rays of the Holy Spirit shined within me my home and family extended.
I knew well the answers to all my questions.
I speak out now of the brotherhood of man.

In the midst of the Mighty One I lead my life.
With the Holy Spirit within me my prayers never return unanswered.
Always together with the One I will reside.

Back from my path many try to turn me.
They would have me turn from the One and follow in their foolish way.
They would have the Spirit depart from me.
Mark this my woe.

Firm is my resolve to follow on the Sacred Way.
Flowing through me like a flood is the Holy Law.
Truth and Love I will extend to all within my care.

The kinship I have with the One I will not change.
Like a man, most wise, I will follow the pathway set before me by my God.
Mark these words of mine, all of you who would have me change from the Way.

I will live as a Priest of the One, teaching His wise ways.
He is the God of gods.
His ways are intelligent and fully meets in agreement with our reason.

I will speed onward to fulfill my obligations as a child of the One.

Let us make our prayers to the One.
To Him who provides us with the Sacred Way we will pray.

The One reveals His thoughts directly to our heart.
Let sacred worship, worship of the One rise anew.

The pathway set by the One is to be highly glorified.
The pathway of the One is not to be transgressed by mortal man.
Once you begin this pathway, do not try to change your way.

When you were buried in the cave of ignorance, the One came to you when you called.
The One heard you and released you from your distress.

Now honor Him and walk in His Way.
Many will observe you as you walk in the Way.
They will see if you are like a carpenter whose back was aching who crouched and slunk away.

Mark these words of mine that you may not deviate from the Way.

May we always through our words and our song be closely allied with the One.
With the One may we overcome all obstacles that we meet in our way.

May the One grant this our prayer.

With love,

Rev Dorris
