Did A'jad predict Armageddon at the UN?
By James Lewis

See the full article above...some of Ahmadinejad's cult (Khomeini Shiism) end-times doomsaying:

"Oh God, hasten the arrival of Imam Al-Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those who attend to his rightfulness."

"I officially declare that the age of relations arising from the Second World War as well as materialistic thought based on arrogance and domination is now over."

"Humanity has passed a perilous precipice and the age of monotheism, purity, affinity, respecting others, justice and peace-loving has now commenced."

"The era of darkness will end, prisoners will return home, the occupied lands will be freed, Palestine and Iraq will be liberated from the domination of the occupiers, and the people of America and Europe will be free from the pressures exerted by the Zionists."

"Without any doubt, the Promised One who is the ultimate Savior will come. ...

"Let's play a part in the fulfillment of all this glory and beauty."

"I wish for a bright future for all human beings and the dawn of liberation and freedom for all humans ... A wish which I expect will be fulfilled in the near future."

Dangerous times ahead....hopefully, an internal movement can somehow hasten the regime's demise...but an example like Myanmar is not encouraging.
I always find the idea of a savior/prophet/messiah as the ultimate deus ex machina frightening. Especially when people try to manipulate events to herald his/her coming...
I'm not clear as to how most of these are "doomsday" or apocalyptic sayings. Sounds like comments similar to what any politician might say.
David, read the linked article....the context of what he is saying and with past statements is the key.

Interestingly I read somewhere the other day that there is some debate apparently as to whether when Jesus talked about the 'Son of Man' if he was referring to himself or some other figure in the future. I find it hard to believe he didn't mean himself but who knows?
