Hi. I found the AUC Liturgy on the website. How many of the AUC related groups who post on this website actually use that liturgy?

Where did you find it? I don't recall is we based our liturgy on the one you mention or from another source.

Just to give some background on this, it was offered up by a former AUC member who had volunteered to create an outline for worship services. Personally I quite like it.
For more traditional Unitarian Christian resources you might want to consider the Hungarian Unitarian Church material:

No, this is far removed from what we used in formal services. Personally, I found this one to be a little to UU in its attempt to use language that is all inclusive. Ours was was loosely based on the style and format of the old New England congregations. (Centered on a themed sermon)

When we meant God, we said God. When we meant Jesus we said "Yeshua".

We never addressed The Holy Spirit as such. Instead we said "Spirit of Holiness".

If anyone wants to see it I can post ours.
Yeshuan...please post the liturgy and any other material you would like to share. We are always looking for additional resources / materials.
Well, its more of a schedule than anything but it fits well within a hour and is designed for small groups of 30 or less.

______________________

Standard Service Liturgy.

1. Congregation may enter the sanctuary at 11:00 am and be seated. For small services and meetings chairs are arranged a circle intersected by the lectern. This is to represent the equality and unity of the assembly.

2. The Pastor will ring the bell three times to signify the start of the service.

3. Welcome and opening prayer. (Default Lord's Prayer) Congregation may also recite.
Special occasions or events may dictate an alternative prayer.

4. Sermon: Apx. 20 min.

5. Open discussion on revelation during prayer or questions concerning the sermon.

6. Listening Prayer. This is a receptive mediation prayer in the “Quaker” style. The Pastor will recite: 'God is Spirit and those who worship, must worship in Spirit and truth"; (John 4:24), "Let us seek the Eternal Spirit of Holiness as we pray in silence."

After several minutes the Pastor will signal the conclusion with "Amen".

7. Announcements: & Reiteration of previous week. Congregation may announce personal or family events.

8. Weekly Passage: The Pastor may suggest a passage for congregational reading and contemplation for the following week.

9. Prayer Requests for the coming week.

10. Benediction: Pastor prays for blessing of the congregation.

11. The Pastor will ring the bell three times to mark the conclusion of the service.

12. All stand and shake hands in a gesture of fellowship. The congregation may leave the sanctuary.
Sounds nice....no platform for endless announcements of special interest groups.

Do you have any RE programs yet? Did you create your own material...huge undertaking..or have you found a good source...sometimes with a little modification?

If you mean Religious Education programs, the only one we have in effect is the emergency chaplaincy one for CDRC, which is not a huge program.

Otherwise, yes, we are starting from scratch. There is probably no other way to go about this. We don't want to start with a core of work that centers around an alien theology and then go back filling in blanks or contradicting the core material.

We do have a few sources to start with but it remains to be seen if we can work with, and modify, any existing material.

We have a few well qualified volunteers who will help contribute. I expect it will be about a year before we can offer an Associate level course.
