VATICAN CITY — The Roman Catholic Church must figure out what it is doing wrong in the battle for souls since so many Catholics are leaving the Church to join Pentecostal and other evangelical movements, a top Vatican cardinal said Friday.

Right.

I find it difficult to envision the Roman Catholic Church seriously trying to reform itself, although there are of course many fringe members of the church who really favor a cleanup of one kind or another.

I think of the RCC as analagous to a sandstone column....the softer parts wash away over time leaving the harder core standing.....which may be the desired effect for the extremely orthodox.
Hmmm, I dont think commentarty is even necessary. The statement itself says it all. Smile
The RCC is broad and diverse; it is also understaffed. So long as it refuses to allow the majority if its priests (because in reality, some are allowed to be married) to marry it will continue to fight an uphill battle.
