This whole thing does seem to have been blown completely out of proportion. Seems to have gone beyond the religious and entered into the political. The resulting divisiveness is truly sad.
Eruonen and Rev Dorris:

Thank you very much for your thoughts and well wishes.

Eruonen: I hope not to be a stranger on the board. I've very much enjoyed the many discussions here on the AUC Forum and while perhaps not a Unitarian I love the discussions and hope to remain a part of it-and perhaps continue to share writings and thoughts from time to time! (Now that life has quited a bit it will be easier). I like your thoughts as well on the need for a synthetic church and the strange burning you have in your heart at Easter-the mystery of the Resurrection was one of many things that made Jesus Christ too alluring to resist.

Rev Dorris: Your thoughts as well are much appreciated, especially your thoughts on labels. It is only recently that I have really found labels that seem to work (for now, at this stage of my journey at least) for me. I hope always to remain true to myself, and as I value intellectual honesty I can only be a part of tradition/church that I can agree with most of the time, and reconcile with when I do not agree. I also, by the way, agree with you about recognizing the best in all teachings and as a Universalist that is a part of my theology and spirituality to the end. I suppose in that sense Unitarian and Universalist are one and the same.

Thank you both! All the best,
