LOL. I love Colbert, saw his show in person a couple of years ago, it was hilarious.
Steve-you realize this is satire, right?

Humor is healthy....satire touches on well known stereotypes that have the ring of truth to a large degree.

We (anyone going by the Unitarian or Universalist lable) are going to get lumped in with the UUA as few would know of any difference....so I always give a qualified description..."Unitarian but not of the common UUA variety.."..or some such.

Hmmm....maybe we need a Logo....an official sign that incorporates the name and a distinctive statement...i.e. "The religion of Jesus, not the religion about Jesus".
The current logo is ok but word Unitarian is missing.
Bumper stickers....not my favorite... but why not?

OK, I'm going to be a spoilsport; the religion OF Jesus was liberal Judaism. Today that's called Reform Judaism in the US. Being Jewish is a complex thing, involving cultural and spiritual practices that those not raised Jewish, or not interested in Judaica, may not care for.
The religion ABOUT Jesus, his teachings, his life, its significance cosmically, his passion, death and resurrection, his ascension, and his future return is the religion called (orthodox) Christianity.
Yes, I am annoying, and I apologize
There are plain old "Unitarian" bumper stickers, I know because I bought one.

"Annoying? Maybe"
No, certainly, certifiably
"that have always fascinated/attracted me have been the basic philosophical, mystical and spiritual cores of each-it has never been their overt cultural or liturgical aspects."
Yep...
"Am I onto something here?"
Yes you are-Unitarianism

Robert G Ingersoll:
"A few years ago, at a revival, a fine buxom girl was
"converted," "born again." In her excitement she cried, "I'm
married to Christ -- I'm married to Christ." In her delirium she
threw her arms around the neck of an old man and again cried, "I'm
married to Christ." The old man, who happened to be a kind of
skeptic, gently removed her hands, saying at the same time: "I
don't know much about your husband, but I have great respect for
your father-in-law."
