What can we do to make God's Light shine forth through the Darkness around us?
We first let it shine in our own true selves. With that Light in the niche of our inmost hearts, we can walk with steps both firm and sure. We can humbly visit the comfortless and guide their steps. Remember it is not we, but the Light that will guide.
Great is the joy of being found worthy to bear the Torch, and to say to our brothers: "I too was in darkness, comfortless, and behold, I have found comfort and joy in the Grace Divine!"
We should pay the dues of brotherhood, by walking humbly, side by side, in the ways of the Lord, with mutual aid and comfort, and heartfelt prayer backed by action, that God's good purpose may be accomplished in us all together!
It is saddening to think that through the ages, most of humanity has lost the way. Still a few good souls have rekindled their faith in God, and do righteous deeds; and have joined together in the mutual teaching of Truth, and Patience, and Love.
Let us remember - It is the spiritual part of us that conquers time.
Let us remember - Our life will show profit if we have faith in God, lead a good life, and contribute to the social welfare by directing and encouraging other people on the Path of Truth and Love.
Faith is our armor, and our righteous living is our positive contribution to the spiritual ascent of both ourselves and all of human kind.
If we live only for ourselves, we do not fulfill our whole duty. Whatever good we have, especially in our moral and spiritual life, we must share with our brothers. We must desire that through our example, they may see the Truth and stand by it in patient hope and unshaken love. Only then will we and they have attained Peace within our hearts, minds, and souls.
The straight religion is simple:
to adore with a pure heart the God of Truth,
to draw nigh to Him in prayer sincere, and
to serve our fellow -- creatures in charity and love.
To do anything else is to fall from grace. By having a living faith and by living a good life we are led straight to the Goal, of Unity with God.
We have been commanded no more than this:
to worship God,
to offer Him sincere devotion,
to be true in our faith,
to establish regular prayer, and
to practice regular charity.
This is the religion of the True Believers.
Those who have faith and do righteous deeds,
their reward is with God:
God well pleased with them, and they with Him.
May God Bless You and Be with You in all that you do.
With love,
Rev Dorris
