Excellent article (written by the famed Sci-Fi / Fantasy author Orson Scott Card in Meridian Magazine) about the current "climate' change / warming" situation that is noted for bad science, pseudo-religion and fear mongering is brilliant.

I like especially this line:

" What matters right here and now is that it is time for the world's scientists to apostatize from the Church of Global Warming. It is a false religion. It is based on lies, and its leading prophets know that it is because they're the ones faking the data or stretching it to ridiculous lengths to pretend that the real world hasn't already ruled against their claims."

Here is a typical response from those in the "orthodox" eco-church:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/article/2.../107270089

"It is my intention to destroy your career as a liar," Mr. Eckhart wrote. "If you produce one more editorial against climate change, I will launch a campaign against your professional integrity. I will call you a liar and charlatan to the Harvard community of which you and I are members. I will call you out as a man who has been bought by Corporate America. Go ahead, guy. Take me on."

This just goes to point out that the orthodox of any position..be it religion, politics, science etc. can be very nasty in preserving their world view at all costs...despite evidence to the contrary.
To make-what was originally a long post-short neither Card, nor Singer, nor Avery, nor even Eckhart (if one researches each of them a bit) are objective, agenda-free people. I would not look to any of them for reliable data any more than I'd ask the fox to guard the henhouse.
The data comes from multiple "independent'" sources.....I just think one should consider both sides and decide...and remain open to new information. I believe you will find a great deal more data shaping, manipulation on the pro side ...but...that is simply my opinion. It is fair to say that both the pro and con views represent different agendas...some legit and others less so.
